Since my late father retired from a bank, my mother is a member of some or other banking pensioners organisation. I forget which. She's been offered an excellent rate on motor and household insurance from First Equity with Santam Pensure. I have no idea whether they're any good at all so I thought I'd ask before she makes a mistake.

Stand to be corrected, but First Equity is an insurance broker. Pensure might be a product that they write through Santam.

I'll check tomorrow and post my finding here.

That's right. I guess I could have left First Equity out. I think I'm most interested in whether Santam is good.

Thank you for the help.

Santam is the leading insurance company in South Africa. The have gone on record that they pay 99% of all claims. They also have a fairly good footprint across the country. I am insured with them, had two claims which were settled quickly and fairly imo.

This is something that confuses me. I checked their HelloPeter profile and out of 456 they have 370 negative and only 86 positive. This is in contrast to Momentum's 356 with 274 positive and only 82 negative.

I'm using Momentum and I've also had excellent service from them so I'm inclined to think that it's accurate.

Human nature is to complain. In my experience few do the hard yards to give praise.

This is also true. I think I just worry more because it's for my mother so I don't want her to have to battle.
