Hi there, does anybody else have problems this morning?

I got home last night and the router had a red light, so no internet connectivity...

I reset the router, same thing then called SAOL. The first guy said i haven't been on the whole month, which isn't true, it is on 24/7. But then told me it could be a line problem and i must give it 10 minutes.

Of course after more resets and a few hard resets and reconfiguring the modem it still has a red light. I phoned again and got through to someone else who seemed to have my correct details and she told me she could see a problem and she will reset my account and the line... and to please give it 10 minutes, reset router and try again.

After being so frustrated last night i gave up and this morning, still red light, router cannot connect to ppp server and is not getting an IP address.

Anyone else have a problem? What am i to do next, any ideas?

No problems here, 384 uncapped account going strong.

With all the complaints about line's going down and finding out whether it's telkom or ISP or Router etc.

I now have two routers two test the line with in case it is a router problem.
Two accounts for adsl SAOL and FNB connect for backup as well.

Touch wood I have not had any major problems yet.

I might need to borrow a router somewhere to test, i dunno...

I can log on to SAOL with my username and password and they did not say anything was wrong with that last night, so i dunno...

Thanks for that, mine is 6. When i am home tonight i might try and change it to something else anyways and see if that helps.

If it's a sync issue on the line, do SAOL report it or do i phone telkom, or does it eventually sort itself out?

SAOL don't actually control the line. If you have one of their all in one packages, you need to phone SAOL and get them to investigate the line being down, as telkom won't help you if the line is registrered to SAOL.

However, if the line is in your name, then you will need to phone telkom yourself

I just logged onto SAOL and see the session went active again at 11 this morning, so was probably a line issue or something that sorted itself out.
