Hmmm...

It seems SAOL are sailing a bit too close to the wind.

If you enter their website (www.saol.com) you will see their 'Record Breaker' deal advertised. At first, it seems almost too good to be true... R 95 per month for 384kbps line rental and 1GB data. If you click through to the landing page, it mentions it's a 24 month contract. Fair enough, I guess.

But, when I called them, I'm told... R 95 is ONLY for the first six months... and then the rate doubles for the remaining 18 months. Well, that's not what the advert nor the application page states. Huh?

Me thinks this is - quite simply - false advertising. To the trained eye, you would probably suspect that something's up. However, Joe Blogs in the street is very likely to be taken in by this.

Thanks. But how on earth did you click through to that page... can't find the link. To my mind, the offer is still very misleading.

On the add, it says terms and conditions apply - I clicked that.

Hi Guys

So what do you think about our site? Open criticism is always better, what better way to improve :)

Thank you for taking the time to mention your concerns.

With regard to the package, we simply put together a package that will assist the client for six months on their monthly bill before normal rates apply, this offer is the cheapest out there as it includes the ADSL line.

The advert is not misleading, we direct you to the terms and conditions which clearly state what the package is, if clients do not read them, it is not a problem, as with every signup, we call the client to welcome them, we also repeat the package they have ordered, and confirm the terms so that they are clear as to what they are signing up for.

We do not believe in misleading clients, we are here to provide a service at a rate to clients, not to mislead them into trusting us, this banks for a very long, trusting and loyal relationship.

Hope this clears things up for you.

If you need any further clarification or information, you are more than welcome to e-mail me at [email protected]

Thank you
