SAOL stuff up ADSL access deactivations.

I would like to notify all of you about my SAOL cancellation experience. My main reason is to put more pressure on SAOL to actually sort the mess out.

On 1 March I gave instruction that I want to cancel my ADSL, because I am emigrating to Aus. As per Telkom's instruction I had to go in to a branch to cancel my telkom voice line, since that way they can give final payment instructions immediately. At the branch they told me that the ADSL access was not cancelled yet, so I cannot cancel my line.

To make a long story (12 calls to Telkom, 15 mails, 4 calls to SAOL) short, when I called Telkom again this morning, they told me that now there is an request to activate ADSL on my line and not de-activate.

SAOL cannot proof that they requested ADSL cancellation before 31 March. Now Telkom have slapped me with another line rental.

SAOL MUST follow the whole ADSL process through in a timely manner. They should have confirmed on my behalf and notified me when it was done.

Seriously BAD service.
