SAOL: http://www.saol.com
Openweb: http://www.openweb.co.za

Both these ISP sell 10Gb SAIX accounts for R349 which is by far the best deal at the moment for a higher cap ADSL account.

Both have Durban support numbers (031). SAOL also has a national 086 support number

As I understand it Openweb resells those SAOL 10GB SAIX accounts hence the same price. I tried ordering on both their websites and from what I saw from their online systems is that SAOL only support credit card and debit order payments while openweb is only direct deposit payment.

Keep in mind that both require a 30 day cancellation notice period when compared to some other ISPs who don't.

For me just from the payment method view openweb looks like the way to go.

In fact if they accept credit cards now its news to me.

SAOL accepts debit orders and credit cards, and in most cases, we will accept EFT payments after prior arrangements have been made. Our on-line sign-up facility only allows for credit card or debit order payments, so in a case where EFT payments are requested, we can make alternative arrangements for these accounts.

I did the SAOL online credit card thingy, Marko was a star and it was all up and running in a couple of minutes.
The woman that phoned back for activation sounded like a BABE too!!
Im sure Mr Beep's service is just as efficient, this is just my little happy story though.
:)

when you say SAOL accepts credit cards, does it mean that they debit your credit card on 1th of the month, or ...

SAOL will debit your credit card on the first of each month like a regular debit order, and we can also debit your card upon your request for top-ups, etc.

Hi .. you have just clarified a lot to me ...

I have just made up my mind ..

I will go with OpenWeb ...

ET (Electronic Transfer) is the way to go ..

I dont like Debit Orders .... :)

@Marko
Why is it that your 10Gb account is so much cheaper than other ISPs? I hope there's no catch...

I'm planning to go with SAOL for that account as soon as Telkom is nice enough to install my ADSL line... do you offer a pro rata rate if I join in the middle of the month, or would I have to sign up for a 2Gb account or something?

I've taken out 2 10 gig accounts this month from OpenWeb, and they've worked perfectly. 1 is capped and the other has 2 gigs remaining for the month.

Hello Sybrwulf,
We do not charge pro-rata, as we are supplying the full package, albeit halfway through the month. The option of using 2 or 5GB till the end of the month is quite popular, and then at the end of the month, your account would automatically be changed to 10GB.

Our 10GB deal is tailored to offer value for money, and there are no catches, it is simply a good deal.

...and soon as your order goes through tell them you want to cancel at the end of it.
