Does anybody know what other training avenues one can use to get a certified SAP. Official SAP is very expensive. Does anyone have experience with Michael Management online training.

That's it really. SAP has their own certification portal and you do it through them. Best if your company has a partnership with them as you can look at getting some form of discount.
Other than that, nobody else does training on SAP in South Africa. I did some a couple of years ago, but they cracked down on staff who didn't work with SAP at that stage getting training and it was revoked from me. Left high and dry. For audit purposes apparently!

You can either read a SAP press book or Udemy course etc but you need to do the certification exam through them. Thus you do not need to do the course with them but the exam you have to.

I know Oracle has a rule you have to at least do one course through them to get the professional certification. Does not look like SAP has something like that in place

Is this recent? I did my JDE certification years ago and I was the only one in my team who attended any Oracle course before doing the certification exam.

Maybe 10 years ago. Its not a requirement for the oca but for ocp level. Not sure if that is stil the case though

I came here to say most SAP training happens in Graaff-Reinet but then I realised you meant the other SAP
/leaves room quietly

I did one of the 3 or 4 courses suggested and then I just got my hands on whatever material I could get from manuals, How To's, FAQ's, etc. mostly from the MOS and MOSC archives.
Is there big market for jde in s.a. I just finished a diploma in financial information systems. But waslooking to add platform like SAP

I found some material. I does not look getting access to a SAP system to train on is an easy thing. Any suggestions?

That is a bit tricky. With one of the SAP Press books I purchased I received a CD which allowed me to install a training version of SAP (valid for 1 year).
However you can try this: https://www.guru99.com/install-sap-ides-practice.htmlcertification
Certification i think can wait for now. I just need some familiarity with sap system. I think ill try the sap press books. Hopefully they still provide a cd with it or a cloud based demo system

Which area of SAP are you interested in?

For development, there's HANA cloud trials available.

For Analytics, there's SAP Analytics Cloud trials available.

If you willing to spend a few bucks on Azure or AWS credits, you can spin up your own instance of many trial applications from cal.sap.com.

On the Open SAP courses being run live, they normally have systems available for participants.

Hope it helps.

I'll have a look tomorrow, but I recall that SAP has a time-limited demo version that you can spin up in your choice of Cloud environments.

I will look for the link tomorrow that points to the portal.

I used it a few years ago to spin up a SAP/HANA environment on AWS in order to test some recovery aspects of the cloud based environment.
