SAPS launches crime-fighting app

I doubt it, its just another avenue for the SAPS to ignore largely but feel good about themselves because they're involving the public.

The Emergency Alert portion, what is the response time on that if I press it to a police officer arriving at my location? If its more than 5 minutes its a monumental waste of time.

I wonder how many police officers (with official police transport) are required per area. I'm 100% sure they don't have nearly enough.
 
They should consider adding a function to the app that will activate the camera and recording functions and upload it to Vodacom or Police servers in the event of a crime. At least they could hear or see the last few minutes or seconds of a persons' life, whether this can or will be used as evidence or not. This would be way more effective than hoping the police will respond.

Why does the case need to be reported at a police station as well. If the app generates a reference nr...
 
Can't see where to download it. That's a sort of important bit, to be able to download it.
 
Who remembers the 2013 screw up when the saps website was hacked and details of people sending tip offs exposed? The best part was when the brigadier said the site wasn't hacked as he could still access it.
 
When using the tip-off the facility, an option will be given to report the crime anonymously.

The user must then identify the incident type and supply details of the event. After this, suspect’s details will need to be supplied to assist SAPS in creating a profile of the suspected perpetrator.

Finally, the person that reports the crime will get a reference number to add more information regarding the crime or to follow up on the police’s progress.

Well I am curious to know SAPS' progress with regards to arresting and charging the Zumas and Guptas and Muggershules et al for State Capture and many other related crimes.

So everyone that is interested in any progress made towards eventually prosecuting those criminals, should use this app to report these criminals and upload descriptions and photos of them.

Report it anonymously of course using this wonderful app, you can still get progress updates via a reference number that will not uniquely identify you whatsoever, because we believe everything we are told :X3: :rolleyes:
