Indeed. There is a big difference between "suffering like" and "suffering for".. If they were quoted correctly, it would seem that they do not know a lot about the message they preach.

The ANC is getting extreme visions of grandeur. First they were making the laws, then they were breaking the laws, then they were above the laws, then they started changing the laws to stay above. Now they are elevating themselves to godhood. They should read the history of leaders that have done so in the past.
