SARS Audit

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has been asked.

On average, how long has it taken you guys to get audited from SARS once they inform you they auditing you?

Last year it took 3 months for me.

What's the difference between an audit and verification ?

With the verification I have given them all my documentation. What more can they ask for with an Audit ?

This is what i got from them: "Unfortunately SARS has decided to check some of the amounts you entered into your tax return." so i just guessed its a audit. I did submit the documents aswell

Just asking because I am in verification phase and if they ask to audit me, I don't have anything extra. I gave them every piece of documentation I had, so not sure what they would ask for afterwards.

It was finalised on the 14th
still no payment

Jeez 10 days later or paid yet?

Mine was finalised 21 July.

Always get paid eventually. Even if they come up with excuse after excuse.
