Express Delivery will probably use DHL. They're excellent and will handle all customs stuff. But they will also add their own fees.

But everything goes through customs and they WILL charge you all the costs as indicated by @Jehosefat

You'll pay double at least of the cost of the shirt.

Standard is completed this side by Post Office...you'll never see your stuff.

I have similar sentiments regarding the post office and wanted to opt for the express regardless.
Just now worried about the customs fees etc.

Duties on clothing is there for a reason to encourage people to support local. It would be mental to have customs like that on electronics.

I understand that, my issue is official Everton merchandise is very rare since they do not have a massive fan base here like liverpool or man united.

I still dont believe i should be punished this heavily for purchasing something where there is no local alternative

Imagine if clothing was defined further... it can be made locally, but Everton chooses not to...

I’m surprised Everton shirts are so expensive considering the team... I kid

It's fairly quick and painless, took me about an hour (at the SARS customs building at O R Tambo) and I got the code a few weeks later.

I have a parcel coming in with clothes and a customs value of R938

FedEx has just sent me an invoice with the following charges:

VAT: 217.95
Customs duty: 421.20
ROD fee: 150

I honestly never expected to be charged this amount. I have to pay it or I've wasted my money, but had I known it would be this much, I never would have ordered the clothes.

I have already ordered some more using MyUS and now I'm worried the same thing is going to happen when I send those over.

This is absolutely insane.

Clothes attract around 45% duties so that's about right. Sad to see you got caught unawares, been there done that. If FedEx is bringing the other stuff in you will pay the duties as you did with the current shipment for sure.

Yeah, got another $130 worth of clothes coming in. That's like $100 extra or more on top of that.

Lesson learned, never again.
