Are there any e@syfile experts out there?!

I have a backup of a database of easyfile that won't open. SARS' callcentre is useless as usual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is it doing?

How did you make the backup? Internally or externally?

It's not doing anything, it just sits there and loads and loads en eventually times out. The backup was made on another computer running the same version of easyfile.

It is a Java issue.

Uninstall easyfile & unistall any versions of Java that are on the machine.
Download & install latest java version for www.java.com
Re-install Easyfile. When it pops up complaining that you dont have the correct version of java and asking if you want easyfile to install the right version, say no.
Complete setup and copy back the old database.
Should work

Tried that. Still doesn't work.

The above process has worked on three computers i have had to do it on in the last month. Otherwise you can try going back to an older version of java like 7.45 or 7.65. I have managed to get it to work with one of those, but then you have an insecure version of java on your machine.

If you have a 64bit operating system, then download the 64bit version of Java. E@syfile will not work with the 32bit version on a 64bit PC.
