I have a client who backed up their Easyfile database (.db file I think) using the manual backup feature within Easyfile.

They then installed the program on a new computer, and tried to restore that backup using the freshly installed program, and it doesn't let them log in at all.

"Invalid Login Credentials" is the error as far as I can remember. (Although they know that they are putting in the correct password).

I have tried to do this all myself, and I get the same error, so it's not just the "dumb user" problem :D

Btw - this problem happened on two different machines.

Does anyone know how to get the restore feature working/how to log in once the db file is restored?

Both machines use Windows XP.

Thanks!!!

Have not used e@sylife before but check that the users have the same windows permissions on the second machine that they had on the original machine

The EasyFile.db database is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data. Look for a folder that starts with "EasyFile", it will have some other letters and digits appended. The file is in the Local store sub-folder on my PC. Perhaps you can paste the backup manually to this folder and overwrite the file. Hope this helps ;-)

E@sayfile login problem

Hi,
I had a similar problem last week. After listing to how I am 107 in the line for 3 hours, the staff at sars helpline (0860-12-12-18) directed me to click on "secure reminder". I used my personal sars efiling login name and password. Their system then generated a password that worked.
