SARS eFiling 2023/2024

I just picked up that the contributions to my tax free savings account is not reflected (and cannot be changed). T
The interest I got does show at least. Anyone else have this?
Have you only had one tax free account.

My satrix one is there and is correct.
My EE one that I closed, or thought I closed 3 years go, still shows up there.

As long as you didn’t go over 36000 for the year, you’re probably ok.

So just got through to the SARS contact centre. I'm not sure why I thought I'd get constructive feedback, but they have said I need to wait until tomorrow to get the letter that details what docs they need. Apparently there is a delay with issuing them.
Submitted yesterday at 10am, still haven't received the letter detailing which docs are needed. On hold now for an agent.
i dont even have an option open to submit documents - we will wait until tomorrow and see

Have you looked under the tab SARS Correspondence? I selected search correspondence and the Requirement to submit documents letter and upload tab appeared there.

So still waiting for the "letter with further instructions" to be issued. Hoping the Solar rebate is worth the hassle of being audited.
Quoted from my Letter.

If you do not find any error in your return, we would appreciate it if you can send us documentation in support of all your incomedeclared, deductions and exemptions claimed. For example:-

An invoice and proof of payment/payment agreement for the purchase of the solar PV panels. The invoice should reflect, details of allcomponents installed eg batteries, inverters, the number of panels purchased, the cost per solar PV panel, and the wattage of eachpanel.-

Proof of the date of installation of the panels and the date when they were brought into use.-

Proof that the installation is for a residence mainly used for domestic purposes by the natural person who acquired the solar PVpanels.- Where separate invoices were issued for the various components, these should be submitted.-

A utility bill showing the physical address and name of claimant for the premises at which the solar solution was installed.-

A Certificate of Compliance (COC) issued in terms of the Electrical Installation Regulations of 2009, showing clearly the date ofinstallation and operation of the solar system.

So I just put in the total amount for the panels (ex VAT - not sure if this was correct or not). On my Notice of Assessment it calculated the rebate:

I put in the VAT incl. amount and got credited 25% of that. I would resubmit if I was you. The rebate is against the cost of the panels which vat falls part of that cost.

Awesome, thanks for this.

What would suffice for this though?

"Proof of the date of installation of the panels and the date when they were brought into use.-"

I remember just having a WhatsApp conversation with the installer.

Your coc will have the details on this and will suffice.

Proof of the date of installation of the panels and the date when they were first used.
  • This information will be on the COC provided and must be signed off by an electrician.
  • If you used the PV panels for the first time before 29 February 2024, but a delay caused the electrician to issue a COC in the 2025 tax year, you must give SARS written proof (such as an invoice or confirmation from the installer) that you used the panels for the first time in the 2024 year of assessment.

Can anyone maybe PM me, related to tax directives (how it work when you took a provident fund (cashed it out), and paid the tax). What are the steps ... (as is it online as options) ?

I just wish they could not have a negative value in the "Amount refundable to you by SARS" column. In my mind if someone owes me a negative amount it means I owe them...
And the ability to upload more than 1 file at a time.
