SARS eFiling 2023/2024

Did that, call centre will escalate the matter. Apparently not yet allocated to a person for the verificatiom audit. Eish brother.
Same here, did an escalation 2 weeks ago (email), today contacted call center and supposedly they also now escalated it.
28 Jul submitted and still not allocated to an official.

Can check here in which stage it is.

Apologies if this has been asked previously but does anyone know If I can claim the following:

Home office expenditure -> Wear & Tear:
Inverter (yes I know the solar panels are separate)

Home office expenditure -> Repairs & Maintenance
Call outs for the inverter

TIA

Is the 21 days SARS say it takes to verify banking details 21 days continuous or business days or days that they choose to count?

I submitted the documents they requested on the 29th of August. I went to the branch last week and they could not do it there, just said that it takes 21 days from the day of submission of the relative documents.

Every Saturday at 9:07 I get an SMS from SARS that there has been new notifications. At the same time I get 2 emails, one that says there is a new communication on efiling and another with the letter attached saying 21 days, again.

21 business days. If you have communication. Read it. If they want more documentation, then provide.

After 2 calls to the call centre, an email to customer care, and then online query (via the submit supporting docs link), my case has finally been allocated to an official. Initial submission of supporting docs was on 21/07. So, patiently (geduld is net n stadige manier om jou moer te strip) waiting for 21 business days now...

A few years ago I owed them money and I got a bean counter to help my file my returns and then they owed me money. Then they wanted supporting documents for medical aid from 5 years prior or something, which I submitted.

They took all the alloted time to confirm all was in order and then took another few days to pay.

I had them request this year for returns from 2008 and 2009. Took some doing to get it sorted [spoiler: they already had everything on their system]. They hit me with a R1500 penalty for those returns, but even then, they doubled my refund with the old returns.

Now I'm waiting for them to complete the bank details verification to get my refund.

Hey guys, this last tax cycle I got married in community of property (and updated spouse info on tax returns).

I've read that once it's properly linked, future tax returns need to show both partners' it3b info (income from savings, dividends etc), and you need to declare all totals on each profile? That sounds confusing to me.

Will that all autopopulate? Or are future tax returns going to be more complicated?

Finally got round to filing this morning. Initial calc is a nice return of about 60K. Should have filed earlier so I could earn interest on that. Anyways, awaiting the inevitable audit.
