SARS eFiling 2025/2026

Finished F1 qualy, logged in, checked against supporting docs, all looked fine. Saved the assessment to my Dropbox. Logged out.
 
Got my SMS today as well. Need to try and remember the password now...
 
Nobody else commenting here so I presume we are all just logging into SARS efiling to check if our auto-asessment got loaded? My girlfriend got hers yesterday afternoon and is very happy with the outcome ... now I've got even more FOMO!

Still need to check that the assessment from SARS is correct.
 
Thier otp thing is crap already before “filing season” officially opens, takes too long to come through

1 July is going to be fun glad mine came in yesterday already
 
Got my auto assessment notification last night at 20:16. Could not log in on the mobile app, so I had to go to my laptop to do so. Logged in, confirmed if there's a "-" before the amount, saw it, smiled. Called my wife to show her, she smiled broader than me and then logged out.

Now the wait begins to see when the amount reflects in my account.
 
yeah no way I'm getting auto-assessed this year

last year things got complicated with multiple IRP5's, too much interest income and SARS telling me I should be provisional, also paid an eye watering amount extra for ANC BMWs

this year the tables are turning big time with steps taken in the new tax year

Steps taken? Can I ask what? It feels like we don't talk openly about this, everyone just finds their own way, rather than learning collectively.

nothing major, I tended to avoid RA's in the past, preferring to manage my money my way in highly liquid investments

so this year I maxed out the RA contribution one can make in a tax year and dumped R350k into one in a single shot
which lowers my gross taxable income by R350k that I've already paid income tax on

everything else in my tax year was pretty standard and I should be due for a sizeable refund from SARS because of this RA contribution

I take my hat off to you, #goals. I'm not anywhere near there yet, but maybe one day. I'll then come seek your counsel, oh wise guru.

SARS can't send him messages on a Sunday but he can post on Twitter. Have to admire that Christian consistency...
 
Got my mailer last night.

I'm actually getting a fair few k, unexpected. Not been working for a few months.

Must weigh up the options of throwing it into my TFSA VS park it in the MM account & ride out out this storm of unemployment.

Decisions.... :unsure:
