They have all your information and don't have to subscribe to and obey the POPI Act.

It's technical. But, in short, they do need to comply with POPIA, but there are many, many exclusions in the act and you need to be up to date with it. Permission from a person is not always required for a third party to be in possession or gaining access to your information.
