JOHANNESBURG – The South African Revenue Service (Sars) has reacted to the latest reports around its Commissioner Tom Moyane’s trip to Dubai.
It was reported this week that Moyane stayed in the United Emirates city in December 2015 around the same time that the Gupta family and their key associates were there.
Sars has confirmed that Moyane was indeed in Dubai on 23 December but says he was in transit to spend Christmas in Portugal and returned to South African on 8 January last year.
It says that Moyane has never met with any member of the Gupta family in either his private or professional capacity.
