:(Submitted my return through e-filing on 29 October somehow its still not been assessed - is this normal i have tried their call centre 50times and nothing too helpful...and they owe me as well. Anyone had similar experiences what should i do next

They processed my return, and those of people that I know, within 3-4 days.

There must be a problem, have you checked for correspondence from them within your e-filing account ?

Sorry if it is a daft question, but are you sure that you did indeed submit it, and not only saved it online? Quite a few people in my work environment made that mistake.

I submitted it - when i query staus it says your return has been received but has not been assessed...etc etc. The last correspondence i had received was for supporting documentation which i uploaded on the same day.

I think it takes a lot longer as soon as you have to give supporting documentation. For the 2007/2008 tax year I was only assessed 6 months after submitting supporting docs...

That normally means you are being audited, then it takes longer to process

Well i call'd YATECINI MNGT they sorted all my problems.
0723800551

last i called em the agent i talked to said i hadn't been picked up for audit

Also having a problem with them. They still had my old Absa account, gawd knows why, but I had to sumbit change of banking details at the office's with bank statements and the whole thing.

So far they managed to change the bank account number only to ask me what bank am I with??? Really how daft can't you be not to be able to read the bank statement????

Anyway's tomorrow will be 21 days since I have submitted the change of bank details. Apparently it takes 21 days to change a bank account number on their system.

I'm also having issues. Submitted mine in the beginning of November and then submitted a correction the following day. I'm also waiting for it to be assessed. Called a couple of times and sent them a few emails.
The consultants weren't of much help. They keep telling me it's waiting for approval. The last reply said that they escalated the log to the assessment dep. on 17 Dec.

tjippi your case is just like mine what then is supposed to be done in such a case maybe zuma's hotline???

Go visit your nearest SARS office. Take all your supporting documentation that you uploaded with you. Plus a copy for them...

same issue with me, uploaded supporting docs and i'm still waiting for a response back from them

This may be the reason

Pretoria - The year had scarcely begun when taxpayers were again queueing to resolve errors in their 2009 returns.

The problems relate to returns that were completed at the offices of the South African Revenue Service (Sars).

In September last year Johan Snyman of Pretoria handed his return in the Sars office in Pretoria East. He has a copy of the submitted return as proof.

He received a huge shock when he was informed that the Sars system had no record of his return.

I don't have the number on me - phone SARS, and ask for the contact details for the SARS Monitoring office....

Phone them - and get them to deal with it - I had the exact same issue, my 2008 return was only paid out just before by 2009 return - it took one call the the monitoring office to get sorted.

i just googled one - 0860 12 12 16 will try it later in the afternoon - if anyone tries and gets joy earlier advise

Thanks for the number! I gave them a call just now and the lady there told me that the assessment has been done but it is waiting for approval (No new news there), but she opened a case to investigate what the issue is. She said they normally resolve a case within 15 days.

If you call them, have the ref no. you got from the call center ready. They need it before they can open a case for you.

Let's hope for the best...
