SARS says ID number is wrong, wants docs from 1998

I filed under my old id number for many years and about 2 years ago SARS informed me that after verifying my id with Home Affairs they changed my id number. I did not have to do anything.
Just inform them that you have not received a letter from Home Affairs and request that the verify the id with them.
