So I received my statement of account from SARS with a refund due. The transaction date is 2018-04-01, is this when it will be paid out? I have also received the ITA34 reflecting same amount, but no date.

Go into their office and see if they can give more support.
Take every supporting document with you.

Don’t be surprised if you suddenly gets knocked with a bigger claim by SARS. This is their favourite delaying tactic.

Mine was supposed to have been refunded on the 01/02/2018 after an audit. Only refunded last week.

Hi There, i recently filed my return i got a response that i owe sars 11000, i called the call centre and was told I need to correct my medical returns. I corrected them and up loaded medical tax cert...the assessment ssaid sars owes me 13000..but the SOA now shows that i will receive 2000 how is that possible?

13000 less the 11000 you owed SARS = 2000?
Does SARS owing you 2000 sound feasable?
I am guessing it's a language issue. They probably didn't owe you 13k but rather made a correction to the tune of 13k which meant they owed you 2k... but do give them a call.
