Good day all, please help if possible.

I got told by a colleague studying law that as a married couple, myself and my wife get taxed doubled.

Once as a individual and than again as a couple. Is this indeed true?

Income Tax is the same for married or single people.

Each of you will be taxed individually and not jointly as a couple.

You will pay income tax to SARS on your income, and then you will pay the rest of your money over to your wife.
