SARU will stop at nothing it seems to carry out their racist agenda and cover up for their management shortcomings.
The SA Rugby Union has moved to block a meeting between embattled Springbok coach Jack White and President Thabo Mbeki - due to reasons of protocol.

The Bok coach, accused of verbally abusing Die Son sports writer Adnaan Mohamed, had this week indicated his plan to meet Mbeki to talk about "a lot of things he (White) is unhappy about" in Cape Town on Friday.

However, Saru vice-president Mike Stofile told The Star on Tuesday that the union's leaders had resolved on Monday night that such a meeting would be against "protocol".

"If the coach, like any other citizen, meets the president, that would be good. We have a problem, however, if the coach organises a meeting with the president to discuss rugby matters," said Stofile.

"We are the people who have been elected by government to discuss rugby. And in fact, if you look at the SA rugby"s hierarchy, the coach is at the bottom. If he had to meet the president that would have been against internal protocol," said Stofile.

Presidential spokesperson Mukoni Rat****anga on Tuesday confirmed that Friday"s meeting had been initiated by White "sometime in the recent past".

goto take a moment and have a chuckle at the presidential spokespersons surname though, must of been hell at school :D:D

Hey, look at that. A few months before the world Cup, and SARU has got out the shotgun and is busy aiming at its foot.

rofl

The dude's name is Ratshitanga?

Anyway, SA have a good chance of winning the WC this year, yet the Bok's greatest enemy is not the Wallabies or the All Blacks. No no no, it's the management.

"And in fact, if you look at the SA rugby"s hierarchy, the coach is at the bottom."

Fools.

This is where it all goes wrong. Rugby does not need anyone to look after it from govt. It is the net sum of the wishes of the playing clubs, not some halfwit govt appointee. Most of those "above" the coach are supernumeraries anyway.

'Jake didn't follow protocol'
12/06/2007 13:03 - (SA)

Cape Town - The South African Rugby Union on Tuesday advised Springbok coach Jake White to cancel his scheduled Friday meeting with President Thabo Mbeki.

In a statement on Tuesday Saru said White did not follow internal protocol when he arranged the meeting and is therefore advised to cancel it.

"Given this bold step that has been taken by the Springbok coach, Saru realises that Mr White has issues that are unresolved between himself and his leadership.

The leadership would therefore like to afford Mr White an opportunity to raise his concerns internally before he can take any issues to an external audience," the statement concluded.

Saru and their new 'leadership' *spit* don't want to understand anything unless it is black.

It is a sad day for SA rugby when the coach is forced to try and get an audience with the president of the country because the idiots above him on the chain of command cant see the forest for the trees.

Bugger protocol Jake, go meet baas Thabo and present the facts, these okes want you out anyway, go out fighting!

Its amazing how your blatant hate for government allows you to post such rubbish. While I am no fan of government, I personally feel that Jake White has not been good for SA rugby just like his predecessor. The problem with White is his arrogance. Fortunately for White, SA has produced a crop of excellent players who have produced the results. I do not believe that White is too be credited with the performances as he is not even picking the strongest team.

You believe SARU is a competent organization and the government is solely to blame, then you are deeply mistaken. I do not understand why the coaches do not have performance clauses in their contract as if this was the case, White would have been fired a long time ago.

Please quote where Sneeky said SARU is a competent organization

Hello Sharkey.
Please explain my blattant hate for government. You are hurting my feelings
I think you need to read what I have written again ad get the hatred you have in your system for whomever, out, and think again.
Your view seems to mimic the view of some other drivel that has been posted on The Times site by Archie Henderson.

Perhaps you should look at where SA rugby was from '95 leading up to when Jake took over, CHAOS.
The first year Jake took over we won the Tri Nations if memory serves me correctly.
You would also notice that in that team, there was a nucleus of players that are still present today, despite some of them going through indifferent patches of performance. Consistency in any sport is the key.
Look at the Super 14, the Bulls and the Sharks have had the most consistency out of all the SA sides and it shows in the way they play.

Back to your post and my apparent hatred for government.
Riddle me this, why the F#% would I be championing Jake to go and meet with Thabo if I was against the government.
My beef is with SARU in particular, yes there are elements of government that play a part but you paint unilaterally with a nice big brush.
push off.

As for performance clauses, ho the F#$% can you expect someone to have a performance clause in their coaching contract when they themselves are not allowed to pick the team they want? Are you mad or just insane?

Where above did he attack the government? My understanding is that SARU was the aim of his attack. Or do you see SARU = Government ... interesting ...

Wasnt even fishing and caught a bottom feeder.

Really, who exactly, Rudolph Straeuli
Jake has a rugby pedigree second to only a few and results to back it up.

Please explain

It seems SARU has a mighty influence over who plays and who doesnt, but to hell with that, gooi a 'coach' performance clause in for the hell of it hey.

*shakes head*

Excellent riposte Sneeky. White has brought back stability to the Springbok side after the Straeuli era when you couldn't find a player in SA who hadn't been capped. How Sharkey believes that White shouldn't be credited with the performances under his own coaching is beyond me. He outstrips Straeuli and Viljoen by miles. Any Bok coach taking this poisoned chalice needs a medal. With SARFU/SARU megalomaniacs such as Luyt, van Rooyen and the new crop - Stofile & Yeye, SA's rugby administration is a disgrace.

White has my 100% backing.
