SA's future rests on a perpetually broken Eskom

How much did Eskom/de ryuter pay to have this written?
 
I see progress, I hate what Eskom/SOes have become. As long as he has support then he has a chance... Wage negotiations seem to be the killer and usually because the shareholders fold...
 
Hardly encouraging. There has been no turnaround as there were more blackouts than ever before. Escom can't seem to find their way out of the S******s. It's a failed SOE as proved over and over.

There kind of has been, the planned maintenance has been higher, which is unfortunately why there have been outages.

You don't turn around a big entity like that overnight especially if you can't just retrench all the useless people because you need union buy in. I'll reserve judgement for another year or so but at least it seems like a good change from the other management styles.

Agreed, there are fledgling signs (albeit it mere glimmers at this point) of a start of change in Eskom.. I would also give it another year before we start to see more concrete evidence of change. That does not mean load shedding will be over in a year, or that Eskoms problems will be resolved within a year though... those problem are going to take a whole lot longer than that to resolve properly.

Everywhere else in the world they have people who specialize, was trained, got degrees & publish academic papers on topics like warehousing and logistics for peer review.
Whole think tanks spend months developing & testing new theories on how to keep stock low, spares available when needed & turnaround high.
Africa says we're not making money we have to raise the price..

And not just one company doing what you mentioned ..... there's choice here which means multiples of those people

If only Gov allowed Eskom or actually better consumers to buy power from other sources.....
 
So Ekurhuleni has finally changed our schedules. Guess it was time since the stage 2-3 schedule no longer applies. Only problem is nobody can figure out what they mean. Instead of being time based it's area based. Each stage only has one area. The old schedule had areas divided by colours, now it's just numbers so you have to read them instead of looking for them. It would also have been better to have the day on the top and bottom of the page but it isn't even on the second page.

 
And here I thought only Africans know what regular blackouts are like....
