I have extracted some of the data while working on another issue, but thought it would provoke some interesting comments.

Only 43% of all South Africans between the ages of 15 and 64 are employed.

How do we know that this is accurate?

Only 43% ? Seem's a tad high to me.......

43% of that age group, not the entire SA population... then it drops to around 28%.

Accuracy? We can all only use Stats SA as a source.

9 million people not employed - and you can't tell me they're at school/university.

Actual unemployment is probably a bit lower if you take into account the informal sectors (hawkers etc).

Yep. Full time student 8am - 4pm lol.
In return I scout* tech deals and help them save a lot.

Not a lot.
I was looking to get a summer job, there is really not much there. The economy is not doing too well, causing inexperienced workers not to be hired due to experienced workers taking up the positions due to them being retrenched earlier.

My guess in students 19+ just counting off the top of my head in Cape Town, UCT + CPUT + UWC + Stellenbosh would be around the 100k mark.
They should separate the 19-24 group.

Official unemployment is what, 25% or so? That's not counting the not-lookings.

If you look at the first table, it shows you REAL unemployment of 57%
