SA's mobile operators charge "an incredible amount": Orange

Oh please, like it's ONLY the mobile operators that rip us off. It's pretty much an medium to large enterprise in this country, from car manufacturers to clothing stores.

So overseas companies say we are getting ripped off, and local comapnaies are saying cheap prices are not sustainable...

According to vodacom prices are just fine

Choosing between trusting Orange or Vodacom is like having to choose between the French or Communism :(

And then there is MTN like a crying stepchild saying that lower the prices may cause a market collapse.

This ORANGE crowd are they same bunch that sent their lawyers into South Africa shutting down and forbidding business from using orange in their business names, not? I'd rather not touch them thanks.

Wait, weren't Orange the ones who made a lot of noise about aggressive pricing before they launched and then opened shop with pricing the same or more than VC and MTN?

Wouldnt you want to make 100000000% profit?

My dad used to say: "buy for a Rand and sell for two." Call me a nerd but that's how I live... I guess a 100% margin just isn't sustainable in the mobile market. ;)

I fail to see the point of VMNOs

It's like ISP's, operating on Telkom's infrastructure. You also wondering what is the point of all of those ISP's/sevice providers?
Do VMNO or ISP have a point by operating on an existing MNO or ISP's network/infrastructure?
