4 Bedroom House for sale in Camps Bay

Enigma Mansion is unlike any other property in South Africa – and is the most expensive, priced at R300 million. Situated on Cape Town’s most prestigious, prime residential coastline – the Atlantic Seaboard, this remarkable residence comprises over 7000 square meters of luxury, from expansive grounds to beautifully designed, spacious living space with indulgent interiors boasting eclectic, bespoke features and finishes, inspired by the great art cultures of the world. The residence also offers an atelier, winter garden, sauna, gym, teahouse, massage temple, herb and vegetable garden as well as many terraces, with the highlight being an artistically-designed Olympic-sized swimming pool with marble inlays. Enigma houses every possible luxury, from its state-of-the-art technology system with iPads controlling all the functions throughout the property, an 80 square meter 3-D cinema, and an extensive selection of beautiful artwork from paintings to sculptures and statues. The décor surpasses seven-star quality and is an eclectic mix of classic, French, Asian, Georgian colonial, and Moroccan influences, with luxury fitted into every detail. Taking inspiration from the Louis XIV period and Hotel Costes in Paris, the interior features were chosen for their beauty, with no expense spared and include bespoke, imported wall fabrics, curtains, rugs, and antique fittings and finishes.

Would a teacher's salary of something around R9 - 10 grand afford the bond?

Nevermind ... just saw this on the site.

Approximate bond cost - R 2 603 469p/m (assuming 8.5% interest rate and 20 year period with no deposit).

EDIT: That bathroom with that ancient little tub is kak. That's an immediate deal-breaker for me ... with my expectations and earning potentials.

I dont understand.. i've seen 10 million rand houses that look nicer than that one.

but apart from that, absolute bargain.

The person that buys this should be put behind bars for stupidity......unless there is a Picasso in every room.

- The cinema has no seats
- The outside bed would get wet in the rain
- It's not on the beach
- It looks haunted
- 6 garages limits your amount of supercars to 6
- The deco looks like it was pulled from grandma's attic

Maybe it's suppose to be R30 Mil.

You forget ... it's situated on the "ATLANTIC SEABOARD!!!!!!!!!!!" and has "BESPOKE features" ...

A tea garden and a massage temple will turn even the most fanatical ANC supporter into a cultured European aristocrat.

Something I do have a problem with is the Apple connectivity throughout the house ... Apple is way over-priced ... which is why the selling price is as high.

Usually, an alelier is a workshop, but that is the old meaning. Today it would be a studio, maybe for an artist or someone who aspires to be an artist. I went into this house about 10 years ago with my friend who is the Chilean Consul in South Africa. He also owns a mansion at the top of Glastonbury Drive in Bishopscourt. I recall being amazed by the silk wall coverings and wonderful floors. Unfortunately I could not wander around and was there about 30 mins.

But this is a hell of a price. I cannot see it is worth so much. If it were in Switzerland then yes, maybe CHFs 18000 would be cheap as castles like the one Michael Schumacher owns, which cost CHFs 50000 , but it is in Cape Town and these are not normal prices.

At R300 mil the fanatical ANC supporter would need to first have European arstocrat money then talk lyke thus.
