SA's R20-billion e-toll problem

Over the last seven years, the government gave the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) R19.6 billion in e-toll grants despite numerous warnings that the system would fail. [Daily Investor]

Just cancel all social grants until we've paid off etoll debts, built some power stations, and have functional public health care and education systems.

I am all for cancelling social grants for a period of 5-10 years. Get rid of all SOE debt first.

R1.7 BILLION to run per year? Just does not add up. Not happy with 10% graft - get a government contract and change that to 1000%

Shouldn't a financial forensic investigation be carried out to identify corruption?
Why are projects like this carried out to milk the people ?
Charge those that sanctioned it ?

ANC's R20-billion e-toll problem

Not my project not my problem still wont pay. You take enough taxes to maintain roads. This etoll over and above tax is a you problem

You mad, bro? :p

The more stupid the idea ( i.e the bigger the kickback) the more likely the ANC are going to push ahead with it.
Please SA, vote these fools out.

Started this etoll problem made enough $$$ we would ever imagine

They do that there will be nothing but ashes left. They will burn down everything in protest.

I have a plan for that. You hire half the grant recipients to fight the other half.
