Hi guys, i have a Seagate 500gb sata hdd installed on my pc since last year, it was working fine, until when i tried to turn on my pc yesterday, the pc won't boot, it just keeps on at the first thing you see, that 'Detecting IDE harddrive' thing when you startup, my pc froze then, and the keyboard is non-responsive, so i figured it might be the hdd. I turn the pc off and unpluged my hdd 1 by 1, and then turn pc back on, from this trial and error, i found that my Seagate hdd was buggered, because after i unplugged that hdd, the pc loaded into windows without problem.
So i took that buggered seagate hdd out and put it into my sata external hdd casing to see if it will work, but sadly, both my pc and laptop doesn't even 'pick up' that a usb device was pluged in, but when i putted in another hdd in that same external casing, both pc and laptop pick it up without any problem.
So my question is, is my seagate hdd buggered beyond repair, or this a simple problem that can be solved?? It just suddenly failed on me yesterday and i didn't even hear a clicking sound from the pc! And does anyone know any places in the Gauteng area which fix these kind of stuff? Thank you for all the helps!!
