both

hi,

SATA is the way to go, definitely!

SATA is the newer interface, it is somewhat faster, cables are soooo much better, thin and much more manageable!

Also, unlike IDE, SATA doesn't have the master/slave concept and jumper settings, making installation and swapping drives a breeze.

Most new mobos have 1 IDE connector (supports 2 drives - master and slave) and 4-6 SATA connectors. You can use both at the same time, that's fine. I would not advice buying new IDE drives, if you want to buy a new drive, SATA is the way to go!

Hope this helps :)

SATA FTW!!

I have 2 SATA 2 16Mb cache drives that run like a dream and also one IDE that I've had for many years that still works 100% :D

But performance wise it will be SATA without a doubt.

SATA or IDE both have their good points.

I guess none of you pro-SATA guys have ever tried plugging SATA connectors in in the dark? Sure is a lot easier with IDE...

Both have their pro's and cons, just SATA has more pro's than IDE. As for speed... depends on what you're comparing. If cache and spindle speeds are the same on both interfaces there is NO speed difference at all. Compare apples to apples...

SATA or IDE both have their good points. errrm yea sata kick the crap outta IDE

super i dont really fiddle with computers in the dark you weirdo lol

sata is much faster than IDE, how can u tell ppl its not faster?

well as i know it IDE is cable thats look kuk sata is nice looking red cable

so its ide vs sata

I'd go SATA just for the cables alone. More airflow inside your case. Even the rounded IDE cables don't compare.
