Is there such a thing?

If so, where can I buy one?

We're trying to recover my HDD, and need a cheap converter cable...seeing as how we're only going to use it once...

*rolls eyes*

Thanks, N.

Yes there is such a thing. I have one - it came with a Gigabyte motherboard. No idea of what you'd pay for one ... nor where to buy one.

To be clear - it allows connecting a PATA drive to a SATA port.

:(

I'm really not keen on a few thousands worth of data recovery...Eish! :o

I need to connect a SATA drive to an IDE port masticore, not vice-versa. :)

...but thanks anyways.

Cheers, N.

/methinks you need 2 get yourself a nice spanking new pc that can do both ide & SATA for this recovery procedure of yours :D

You have two real options.

Buy a USB hard drive chassis that supports SATA drives.

or, install a SATA controller card into your PC.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Silver...no way! The last - of many - FUs by DigitalPlanet was the last business they ever get from me... :o Shocking company that.

I'll take a look at the external chassis... :)
