My night for wacky headlines:

The theory they use, called the Randall-Sundrum braneworld model, proposes that the 3D universe we live in is floating within a larger universe with an extra spatial dimension.

Interesting!

Uhuh... and they can't even tell me what's at the bottom of our oceans...

hmmm I not sure anyone wants to know what's at the bottom of your coean. Sounds nasty, whatever it is.

and? not knowing one thing does not mean we should not try and understand another.

I really think this is interesting - in the sense - we don't know our own reality, the true makeup of that reality - nothing is excluded!!?

without which we would simply go back inside and wait for someone else to knock...

Good point.

Heard that they have discovered another planet in our solar system, which makes 11 now by my count. Would check but i'm capped. How sad is it that we still don't know how many planets orbit our own sun? :(

As for landing on the moon, dont get me started...

Don't know about an eleventh one. I know about Sedna. But now the say it's not a planet and neither is Pluto which means we only have eight now agian. They can't even agree on how many planets we have and now they want to search for another dimention through small black holes. Haven't they discovered large black holes already and how does smaller ones then prove there's a fourth dimention when large ones don't?

No one can agree on any of the findings cus scientists have different definitions for what makes a body of matter a planet.

Still officially stuck with 9 but debating on the gray areas (pluto etc...)

Back to the moon landing... if I can't even get instant VOIP without latency via IS (satellite) - how could the Apollo 11 crew answer all the questions put to them instantly... no latency whatsoever... sorry hj2kx - didn't mean to get you started :-)

Average distance to the moon:384,403km
Speed of light:299,792km/s
Round trip of signal to the moon:2.56 seconds
Can write a whole essay on that one.

conspiracy theories are fun :)

...except I believe the one about the moon.

Quite. So what were they sending those radio signals along?

The theory is that they weren't sending signals at all, but staged it in a studio or played back a prerecorded tape.
