Satellite dish (not DSTV or TopTV) on roof

Hi guys, I was wondering, on some roofs, I see big Satellite (not DstV or Top TV) dishes. What is used for? Who supplies it ect. Is also used for broadband ect.. some info please

Generally the big mesh dishes are c band dishes used to pick up various free satellite services. Mainly India/ Pakistani channels but there is also Arabic / portuguese etc.
