Satrix - people still using them?

Well if you already have a Top 40 why not go to the DBXWD or DBXUS ETFs and put some of your money in foreign currency? Why re-invest in the same shares using slightly different "algorithms"?

Why not the DBXFTSE or DBXEU? Just asking because I was looking into doing something using DBX for myself next year.

Here you go

So I'll wait for you to give feedback before dumping my money :p

I'm either DBXWLD or DBXEU atm, just not sure which one.

I think the US performed better.... :p I couldn't decide between US and WLD... only bought R500 cause it was sitting in the account (dividend payout from SATIND)

Performed better with growth or dividend payout or both?

My Satrix payout goes back in so this will be extra above that.
People knock DIVI because of the growth, but the dividend payout to buy new shares more than make up for it.
Long term (30yrs+) plan for me.

I'm so dissapointed with the performance of SATRIX. I have been investing in RAFI and DIVI for around 2 years now and currently they are 1% and 6% up respectively. Anyone else thinking about moving?

Wait it out for a total of 5 years then decide.

Otherwise you'll simply be walking yourself right into the slump and making nothing at all.

Exactly. DIVI is not about boosting the share price as much as it is getting the dividends.

As long as it's getting more than I would from Capitec and still getting dividends on top I'm more than happy.

Growth, think it was 40%/pa. for the last 2year. Can't recall if its was US or WLD.

My account with Satrix goes back in as well - the payout is from a share trading account.

Probably US, think it is performing better than WD atm. I own a couple of WD shares. Will buy more with next lump sum.

What does this mean on the db X

"A settlement fee of R12.45 (Incl. VAT) is charged by Strate Limited on all trades per fund per day; however, this settlement fee is split between the pool of investors transacting in that fund on that day. "

Okey I have decided on what looks good. Now how the **** do you get started?

I think indi and fini R1000 each to start with.

Here it is, you can see where I switched RAFI into INDI in the graph.

From December 2011:
Debit order total: R90,000.00
Account Value: R116,957.25
Three years gains: R26,957.25

Charges: (don't be fooled by 2013, the capital gains from the RAFI switch makes it look like a better year)
