Does anyone think there is any hope of recovery for this one?

I'm thinking that it's so low at the moment it would be a good idea to buy into it and then reap the rewards when it recovers.

Even if it just normalises back to where it was you'll make an easy 20% profit.

Going backwards in time it seems the RESI is always a bit slower in movement than the other Satrix options, so it stands to reason it will recover like the rest of them soon enough.

First rule of investment, never take investment advice from anyone. Thread point as proof.

But investment is a waiting game, what goes up, comes down and vice versa

Ha ha, yeah obviously.

Was rather a question if anyone else expects it to go up.

My logic is also that it must to up at some point and that it can't really go any lower.

I'm hoping you can see the EMA's in the link below - if you can't switch to the 3 or 6 month view:

https://www.google.com/finance?q=JSE:STXRES&ei=9y90VMjiAaeJwAOG2YFY

So I'd agree with you, it can't go much lower than that. Please note, that's only my opinion, don't go and buy solely on that :D

Yeah you are linking to the same thing I'm linking in my OP. :)

And I've noticed the large volumes being traded suddenly, which I guess is either people bailing out because they can't stand it any more or people buying in hoping to make a score.

I only notice now that its the same map :D. However I added technical indicators to mine to show how far below average its currently trading. I should have copied the link instead :)

Looks like it was higher five years ago... I wouldn't bother...

Probably only showing up on your side then with your Google Account because it's still the same on my end.

Looks like it was higher five years ago... I wouldn't bother...

From a purely pump and dump point of view I only need it to level back to what it was on August 17th 2014 and I'll make use over 21% back on the share.

****

But taking a five year view I see that is actually on the very high side of high so quite unlikely to reach that again.

So you are quite right, not a very safe bet.

It will most likely go up again, but its not the sort of thing I'd buy looking at past performance.

Ditto, as per fact sheet, it has not given more than 5% return - some FD's give more than that surely?

But then we all know past performance shouldn't be an indicator of future performance.

But then again nobody ever listens to that. ;)

In that case, refer back here.

I'll gladly take 5 years of crap performance as an indicator of future performance.
