No such thing exists but that does not mean you will notice it. A simple extension of the wire will cause additional degregation from a engineering perspective.
That was my point - what works well with least visible signal loss?
nothing realy, best bet if you in a high lightening area is give the lighting something else to strike, so put up a lightining rod.
So what about all those coax lightning protectors they sell on the market - are they completely useless, e.g. can't stop damage or they cause too much signal loss?
they would stop what ever is conected from blowing by themselves blowing, but everthing connected to the rf cable will degrade performance, how much degradation we canT tell you as each protector and setup is different.
Lightening is a tricky thing sometimes a device gets hit and nothing happens and other times everything goes.
I know. That's why I started this thread to find out what other people are using and how good are the different options.
