Sauerkraut

If you like sour krout , you will love the real thing in Germany .
tinned and bottled is a poor substitute for the real thing , but acceptable .

Oh no ..... i put the open can of kraut in the fridge and now the fridge smells like sauerkraut lol. Have put it in a airtight container now lol

Don't you own tupperware?

I never put any can in the fridge...shudder.

Sauerkraut on frankfurters or with eisbein!

Oh relax! jeeezuz. I just put it in cause my available tupperwares were dirty and I had to wash them. Good grief. Such drama llama'z! lol

Oi Vey - you left out dirty tupperware:sick:, what next....you going to put tins in the fridge....oh wait

I really like sauerkraut (and many other products that are a result of lactic fermentation, like kimchi). You should try making your own.

I fried some chopped onion in garic butter, then when soft added the Sauerkraut and fried it a little bit more ... then with that I fry some eggs. YUMMY! :D

Why on earth would you heat the sauerkraut? you are killing all the good bacteria? That's if you are even using real fermented and non-pasteurized sauerkraut in the first place

I like it like that. I think the ones I got is pasteurized. It came in a can.

You are missing out on all the pro-biotic benefits if it's pasteurized! It's easy to make yourself, or if you are lazy you can pick it up at a lot of markets & health shops.
