Certain banks provide a higher interest rate if you have more funds in the account.
So, you might earn 10% for funds under R1000.00, but can earn 15% for funds over R1000.00.

Good point. Or in my case with Capitec, more than R9999 in the account earns 0.75 % less interest.

10K - 25K = 4.50%
25K - 99K = 4.60%

Ag, jis... So much for my balancing schemes. And so the emergency money goes back to absa investment advantage (or depositor plus as I think it gets called now)...
