You can try for papagaai berg, but I doubt it, we went with our whole CGS (Computer gaming society of Stellenbosch University) WUG plan to them last year, they just said the mountain is owned by MTN/muni, but MTN has the final say.. and that all the Channels are occupied on the hill, they even kicked off a few wisps to make space for their channels.

So good luck there.

Then i decide, f... it, just start a WISP, because we hardly got any support for a WUG, from the students or public. And less hassles and more control over hardware if something break. We cover most flats in central SB/merriman. De Watergracht, Akkerhof, Libertas, Cyrus, busy setting up 8x Routerboards in LA Rez. Setting up an AP on Dalsig flats aswell. all connected on DC++ & a couple of gaming servers. And we sell 2mbit bursts @ R 89 to 99 per GB SAIX. Must say, we got a hellavu lot more support when we become a WISP, than when we were a "WUG".

I know there is allot of enthusiasm in Stellenbosch cause we get allot of request to point a antenna that way, so guys help skaapgif in making this a success and we can maybe organise a linkup to ctwug for you.

They were actually a WISP from the start, trying to promote their WISPness by creating a "WUG". They advertise(still do) themself as an 'organisation', even have a .org.za domain for the business and all.
 
I'm in Stellenbosch as well, what do I need to join?

I can see the SCN network but when I try to join there's an error.

O.k, I see the last post in this thread was 7 years ago :-)

So I'm taking a shot in the dark, where can I join StellWug?
