Say goodbye to EA as you know it

So what in the heck kind of games can we expect from them now.
Or are we just blowing this out of proportion and EA will pretty well stay the same in terms of content.
 
EA never produced much I enjoyed.

They used to be involved in innovative games, (Beasts & Bumpkins, Dungeon Keeper, System Shock, etc, etc), then they flipped into a garbage factory.

No real loss here.

Having seen how publicly traded companies destroy themselves trying to satisfy shareholder's unrealistic expectations, this can only improve things for EA. All depends on whether they appoint a "CEO for hire" or someone from within that is passionate about the company and what the do.
 
EA is so bad these days.

I remember the late 2000s and early 2010s. Need for Speed, Medal of Honor, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dead Space, Battlefield, Crysis, Titanfall, Command & Conquer, Mirrors Edge, The Saboteur, Burnout, Sims and SimCity.

Now it's the yearly sport slop, milking a 12 year old Sims game and trying to make BF into COD.
 
Electronic Arts is sitting on so much desirable IP, but does nothing with it. As much as people dislike EA, studios owned by them have produced good games. Fixation on some games... I don't get the internet. I personally have always liked EA Sport, and have purchased various titles. It is like upgrading a hardware: you shouldn't upgrade every cycle unless you are into the seasonal, and online, grind. EA's monitization doesn't come close to 2K's. 2K have been eating into their IP, but 2K is making it expensive.

I am not surprised that the person who ran EA Sports now runs EA. It is a cashcow that worked, and they want to bring the licenses back home.

The Arabs are buying everything nowadays, especially that homegrown in the USA. Is it good??? I don't know, time will tell. All I care about is game preservation. It could be a good deal or it could be a bad deal, whoever is involved in the deal.

All that said, I don't know whether it has been reported here or posted here, but Lord British aka Richard Garriot wants his IP back.
