Our government is exceptionally greedy and they want a large portion of Star-link. Obviously trying to take what they didn't work for as is our Government's custom response to everything. However this is abuse of power from our government and it should be credited as such. That said Star-link is very expensive for South Africans so I don't see people using it.Unless they're going into orbit and confiscating the satellites good luck to them...
People will easily use it in rural areas and offshore in a heartbeat. It's reliable, cheap and fast compared to the alternatives in those areas. Our government is exceptionally greedy and they want a large portion of Star-link. True, I can see them use it full time actually. However in towns like where I live we have access to fibre LTE and 5G services. I like my Metro Fibre Prepaid. I can't tell you how happy I am with their service. That said if you don't have access to anything yea Star Link is an answer and actually because it is not dependent on our infrastructure it might be more stablePeople will easily use it in rural areas and offshore in a heartbeat. Fibre doesn't exist everwhere.
Look me too. I'm in a major metro. My fibre connection is pretty reliable. I wouldn't bother with Starlink.True, I can see them use it full time actually.
