I have a close friend that's really been helping me lately to get my life on track.
As much as I mean it when I say "Thank you" to her, it's only words and she thinks that I'm just saying it.

So, how do you say thank you to someone without using words or going the vain route of buying a gift?

She must be a good friend fb3k. You must know what she enjoys and stuff don't you?!? Take her out or something.

Hand written note and a box of Ferrero Rocher.

Before this thread gets completely out of hand, let me just say that some people like nothing more than to just be helped in return, no matter how small the favour.

+1

It's a reward all in it's own knowing that there will be someone there when you need them to be.

Give her a hippy??

Serious? I like the note, and remember she helped you and help her when she needs you. Even if its just soup when she get the flu.

NAIL HER FFS !

Seriously, what do you think she wants. She helps you sort out your life which means she expects to get nailed in return .... some people just don't know the signs

:D

I think thats what pisses me of about the Hippy. We have helped her back on to her feet so many times. But all she does is screw it up again:(

What's wrong with buying a gift? Is it the money involved? I think that would be the best way to show her your appreciation.

Depends on the relationship between you. A gift might actually be a bit impersonal, and too... formal, I guess. I like the idea of taking her out for a meal or something like that, but the best thing really is just to be there for her when she needs you.

It depends how thoughtful the gift is. If you know her well you can buy something she will really appreciate - or search around to find something a bit special.

Flash your emergency lights can indicate you're saying thanks. And if she flashes her lights back at you, you know she wants more!
