Hi Guys

We run a domain at work and one of our Laptops are unable to access the files on the server anymore. As soon as he tries to it asks for a username and password, but when he enters his nothing happens.

He can log onto the domain using that account details and even get his mails just not access the files on the server.

I looked at his permissions and it looks fine. What's funny is it worked a couple of days ago.

Sounds like the trust relationship has been bricked. Check the event log (system) on the server, and check for any kerberos authentication errors, try rejoining the PC to the domain.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Do you mean remove the PC from the Domain or the entire user account as well?

neither really, you shouldn't have to delete them off the server, just go to the computer, change it to a workgroup, restart, and then join it to the domain again. It *should* come up with the original computer account.

THanks I'll give it a try and let you know the result

Yes, like wulfe said, change back to workgroup, and then rejoin the domain again.

Have you checked that the DNS settings point towards your SBS server?
