Has anybody gotten a Beta invite to the game?

How is your battlenet performance with your corrent internet connection? Is it playable? Can you play ranked matches properly with the high latency associated with south african internet?

Cant find anything about it on google through the EU forums and was wondering if it'll be worth it buying the game, without a lan function present in SC2 as this will be the bread and butter of most people trying to play the game.

Guess their all to busy playing the beta to /care :D

Actually I think there have been a few threads like this already (just do an advanced search for starcraft in the thread titles and you'll find quite a few). Also, I don't think us south africans will get access to the beta for a while because the US is Blizz's initial focus...if you know how you can get a local copy that'll allow you to play offline games against the AI.

I too am going to miss the LAN option but at least I don't (or at least I hope I don't) have to be online for the single player campaign - if they take the same route that Ubi has with Assassin's Creed 2 then sadly I won't be buying it either. Luckily this week Kratos will keep me occupied though - and probably Red Dead Redemption before I have to worry about SC2.

AFAIK - You have to be online in order to access the game. You log in through a portal like in WoW and then choose single/multi player.

Dont take my word on it though.

There is a beta cracked AI version, as well only heard that 3 ppl in SA have beta keys. And they begged their way to get one.
Dont get your hopes up about getting a key either ;p
