Scanner featuring an automated document feeder?

I've been to 3 retailers but I can't get a unit that features this.

Price is a limitation, wouldn't want to pay more than R1500.

I'm not interested in a cumbersome flatbed scanner, yet they seem to utterly dominate the market!

Do you know of a scanner that features an automated document feeder? If it has a "scan-to-PDF-file" function, even better!

And if the device you suggest is also a printer & copier, then you've made my day!

only reason why i know is cos we have one here at work, i've never used it, in fact, no ever uses it

I'm not sure about your price range and all those requirements. I have had 3 very expensive HP scanners with document feeders and all had endless problems - all related to firmware compatibility as well as HP software problems. And HP are useless to sort out the issues. Have given up on trying to solve the problems. Now I use it only as a dumb scanner and use other software to achieve the desired results. Do not go the HP route.

I tried to download the user manual from www.hp.co.za but the website is so slow it freezes up. Anyway, according to www.hp.co.za the 5590 is a FLATBED scanner.

Care to confirm?

I must admit, VanZan, I also despise HP due to the software that accompanies their hardware. Thanks for the heads up!
