Hi guys,
I was wondering if there is a way to scan direct to a folder with pre-saved settings on a HP Scanjet 5530 Photosmart scanner.

I'll elaborate my situation so you can understand what I mean.

In my office we have the above mentioned scanner connected to one PC. When we need to scan a document the person at the connect PC needs to stop what they doing and choose settings, save location and so on, each time.

I want to set it up that you'd just push the 'Scan' button on the scanner itself, which will scan and save it in a pre-determined folder on pre-determined settings.

I'm currently using Windows XP's camera and scanner wizard to do my scanning. I don't have any scanner capture software besides that, and HP does offer anything more practical.

Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is Canon's scanner software which does exactly what you are outlinging above... But I see you have a HP. Have you tried googling for some sort of software along the lines of this?

I have a similar option using HPLIB in Ubuntu... Currently using an HP Deskjet 2050 3-in-1.

What file type do you want the saved file to be?

And Gary does it again... :D with the free software that is...
