Scare tactics: Adobe Systems Amnesty & Awareness Program?

One of my clients just received a phone call and follow up email which looks to me like a fishing expedition.

As discussed with **** at your office telephonically earlier today, Adobe Systems is running an Amnesty and Awareness program to assist their endusers with the correct licensing for their Adobe software.

**** Please can u confirm the following:

How many Adobe program you are running in your organization? Ie Photoshop; Acrobat, etc
Is it Mac or Windows?
What versions of the software are you currently running?
How many machines it is installed on?
Formula for Adobe license is 1 user = 1 license = 1 installation.

If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the licensing etc, please contact me, your reseller or Adobe South Africa.

I cant find anything on an alleged Adobe Amnesty and Awareness program. And the client doesn't even use Adobe Acrobat or Photoshop as far as I'm aware.

Just wanted to share this as this looks like a scare tactic to get some business for the company. Unless anyone can point me to any proof that Adobe has an "Amnesty & Awareness Program".

I think if Adobe cared about piracy, they would be more involved themselves.

I never trust these things... it may well be legit, but anyone in business using "u" instead of "you" in their business proposal can take a hike imo
