Well at our High-school prize-giving, this one person in Grade 8 I think, won:
- English
- Maths
- Biology
- Science
- Geography
- History
- Art
- Xhosa
- Life Orientation
The only prize he didn't win was Economics.
Do not underestimate yourself Wayne. Most males in the School Environment are bored to tears. A young male was not made to sit on his derrière listening to boring History lessons and the like.
Where Schools can pick this up is with an IQ Test or similar tests they may use nowadays to evaluate young people. Little Johnny may score 120 or more as an example for his IQ, but at School he will score grades that just allows him to pass.
I would rather think little Johnny is clever enough to just do the minimum work needed to pass which in itself shows intelligence.
I know this is a silly example, but my point is on average males score less than their female counterparts, which I think is more a case of females being more diligent than actually more intelligent.
Poor sod, he must have been disappointed at not getting the Economics![]()
I just walked in from attending my daughters prize giving where she received 3 diplomas. She hovers between 1st and 2nd in her class (grade 5). i just want to say, as her dad, how proud i am of her.
Congrats Jamey.
Grade 6 next year for her, more grey hairs for me.
