So Saturday afternoon I was watching the game between Grey College vs Grey High. A live game on SS, when this tackle on Grey High lock came in after he took a quick tap, broke his leg in two places.

He, Martin Groenewald, had a successful operation on his leg and should be ok.

Martin Groenewald is likely to be discharged from hospital today after being operated on following a sickening double break in his right leg against Grey College in Bloemfontein.

The Herald reports that Groenewald broke the tibia and fibula in the shin area of the leg. He was taken to Bloemfontein Mediclinic and operated upon immediately.

Grey High coach Rory Duncan said the operation was a success.

'I spoke to Martin's father this morning and it seems the operation was a success. We are now awaiting feedback from the doctors to see just how long it will take for him to recover. If all goes well he should be discharged [today],' Duncan told The Herald.

My mate's son was right behind him when it happened...

Luckily for Martin a specialist was at the game and was allowed onto the field immediately.

He is still young so he should make a full recovery. Good luck to him, but that was seriously a freakish accident
