Scones and muffins

I don't like muffins.

And scones must be eaten with jam and cream.

prefer cooking to baking..
I have tried but sucked @ it, the recipe said "Add a cup of coffee", I added a cup of coffee granules and not the 1 cup of diluted coffee. I even broke the electric hand beater because it couldn't mix the batter, which was going rock hard because of the granules.

I'll brew up a batch of savoury muffins about once a month ... sommer those ready-mix packets that you simply add water and eggs and 15 minutes later Bob's your uncle.

Unfortunately I hate bran muffins so I'll refrain from commenting :)

i buy the muffin mix and it comes out awesome

the bran and savoury is good ..savoury i think you add whatever you want

the scones though are too dry for me

Love blueberry muffins as well as scones. Scones I have with jam & cheese and occasionally jam & cream. I'm not big on cream.

I use those mixes to make muffins and cupcakes - I use 50ml of oil, instead of the amount recommended, and just make the balance up with water. Top with icing and you have yourself some quick and easy cupcakes.

For scones I use my mom's recipe.

I try to avoid wheat/grain. Actually just waiting for the weekend to go get some muffin/cupcake pans and try my hand at gluten-free baking

My attempt at bran muffins !

This is a rare attempt; I do not bake that often.

Do you bake your own, or do you go to Fournos/Woollies/any given supermarket/bakery when the craving hits you?

Bran muffins are AWESOME! I like them with rasins. My SO and daughter bake them. Fournos is awesome too... pity we don't have here in the EC.

Those came out perfect btw... I can almost smell them.... I'm putting my request in early for this weekend, thanks for the idea!

I bought a bread pan from yuppiechef so want to try a Mielie Bread.

+1 on the mielie bread - delicious stuff... and beer bread :)
