Scott's Shipping Services - FORMERLY UNDER "POSSIBLE LIQUIDATION"

The lack of communication did not help your cause. Something, at least. Not silence.

It did not help indeed.

You were banned from carb for being a **** and going silent, to be clear

I was directly banned for that bad deal thread, which wasn't a bad deal, he was just stirring kak. Not a single other customer came forward to lodge a bad deal except Mr Giraffe, tbf I did get away with that on a technicality that he was a new member . Does give you some idea of how many people I "scammed" tho.

Also "scam", I must be the worst scammer in history...

Good to hear from you Scott, I hope all your businesses blossom again, you will get past these tough times.

Thank you.

That sure is a nice "plan". That you are actually funding with money you took from previous clients and then just failed to deliver product.

No, boet. That's not how it works.

Got a better idea or can I borrow your money tree?

/popcorn time

I'm on low carb and have to figure out why my cookie banner isn't firing correctly so you guys enjoy!

FFS, can you all get over the damn fishing trip already? My parents live in Zim and paid for the whole ****ing thing. My wife covered December because I couldn’t afford it!
It also annoyed me to have to read about that fishing trip. Such a long-drawn-out joke. I don't even fish, at all.

But now that you're back....

How was the fishing trip?

  • July: Can’t afford lawyers to file for liquidation, so no legal steps are taken.

So the liquidation story was false. I thought it was previously reported that the owner couldn't make any public comments or reply to anyone was because everything was being handled by a lawyer or similar. Basically they just ignored everybody for a period of time.

I'm all for someone getting back up after falling down on hard times, but the reputational goodwill has been basically destroyed at this point.

YUP and SOOO Many as well...
Ads = Traffic
Traffic = Sales
Sales = Money to pay everyone back

But also, Ads cost money.
Lots of ads cost lots of money.
Money which can be used to pay everyone back, so IDK.

@ScottulusMaximus you say you actually didn't scam that money people... What are the actual numbers like? How many impacted clients?

Asking the real questions now

Really enjoyed the threats of doxxing—thanks for that. And shoutout to the mods I reported it to, who did nothing because a CIPC search is apparently "public information" and I really don't have time to go through 80 pages reporting every instance of personal info despite it being against forum rules. This is exactly why I keep my address obfuscated—so some lunatic doesn’t pitch up at my house (it’s happened before). And to the guy who posted a pic of me and my wife—****ing hell, really?

Rampant speculation? Fine, I guess that’s fair since I didn’t provide more info. But some of the **** in this thread is just not cool. Also reported that to the mods—still no response.

Negative reviews: Just stop.

If you’re not a directly impacted customer, STFU. They will be deleted. You are not some consumer advocate—you’re just white-knighting and being a dick.

Personal threats & name-calling: Seriously?

Not sure if this is out of spite or some weird schadenfreude (actually nailed that spelling!), but come on.

(Personal opinion/rant—not legal info, etc. Just needed to get this off my chest.)

*lol, chatgpt had fun with this, I like making it angry
If you act like a **** you will get treated like a ****. Par for the course

@ScottulusMaximus

You are expecting a lot to think you will get sympathy from people that you have lied to / ghosted / financially impacted.

nb. you are not the only one struggling - the money you stole had real life consequences to others so get of your high-horse and show some serious accountability for that.

To now also expect people to just trust your word when you have ZERO credibility is very disingenuous and extremely arrogant.

I get you are in a rough place but your responses are not of a person who is remorseful and genuine - they comes across as arrogant and fake.

What Happened?

Not that I owe anyone an explanation except affected customers, but here we go...

(If someone could copy this to Carb since that guy trying to get a free battery got me banned—he still hasn’t contacted me about his so-called issue, by the way.)

TL;DR: I ****ed around, got ****ed around and now I'm finding out

2023

  • May: Battery business is booming, so we decide to buy a house.
  • June/July: Go all-in on the battery business, taking out a large bank loan and borrowing from family.
  • June/July: Money is tight due to the house purchase and moving expenses, but I have a big consignment of batteries incoming (hence the address change—updating it everywhere is nearly impossible).
  • July/August: The battery market collapses—zero pre-order sales.
  • August: Sell a large quantity to an online retailer at a loss, hoping for future orders. Instead, they were just stocking up until their own branded units arrived.
  • August: Discover the realtor and house seller lied—no approved plans exist, only outdated ones from 1969. The house has undergone major structural changes.
  • September: Battery consignment arrives with massive shipping and VAT costs. I pay VAT using a personal loan and negotiate a payment plan for shipping.
  • December: Unable to pay the business loan. Another loan from my parents keeps Scott’s Shipping Services (SSS) afloat.

2024

  • January: No battery sales, and SSS is slow due to "Januworry." Can't pay the shipping installment.
  • February: Previous house owners sue us over a retained amount we withheld until the house plans were sorted.
  • February: Get a job on a 3-month trial contract.
  • April: Work hard, but my contract isn’t renewed (the company has a reputation for screwing over staff—believe me or not, this part wasn’t my fault).
  • May: Courier partners start withholding shipments due to overdue payments. Here’s where I admit—I lied. I didn’t place some customer orders to keep previous ones moving.
  • June: Depression kicks in. I start drinking too much (been dealing with diagnosed mental health issues for years) and barely look at work.
  • July: Courier stops all shipments until payment is settled. I panic and decide to liquidate.
  • July: Can’t afford lawyers to file for liquidation, so no legal steps are taken.
  • July: Architect report confirms R2M in structural repairs needed for the house. Realtor and sellers refuse responsibility.
  • November: Beat the lawsuit from the sellers and countersue them and the realtor for damages.
  • July–December: Depression, drinking, downward spiral.
  • November/December: Another loan from my parents keeps SSS running.

2025

  • January: Return from holiday (next post = rant mode), finally sell most battery stock at a huge loss.
  • January: Lawsuit against sellers and realtor moves forward; they deny responsibility, so we have to take it to high court.
  • January/February: Start rebuilding SSS and repairing its reputation.
  • March: Here we are.

The Plan

  1. Get back to doing what I’m actually good at—running and marketing an e-commerce store. Sales = cash flow. (You’ll notice website updates, and yes, ads are running. Since you guys interact with my site, they’re actually working targeting you.)
  2. Pay off courier partners (currently using an alternate account, so no online tracking for now).
  3. Pay off the payment provider—chargebacks happened (hence only offering EFT payments, which also saves a ton on credit card fees).
  4. Pay off accountants/auditors—VAT and year-end filings are overdue (expecting fines later).

These are secured creditors—they can come after me more easily, and they’re crucial to keeping the business running.

  1. Refund customers—I fully intend to pay back everyone affected, but there’s just no money right now. My personal finances are maxed out—loans, credit cards, overdraft. Even selling my house wouldn’t cover the issues.
  2. Negotiate with the bank.

Battery Support

Battery support will continue, but only in a personal capacity until I run out of parts. Lifepower is dead and isn’t coming back.

Final Thoughts

That’s where I (and SSS) stand.

See the next post for ranting you can get mad about.

*run through chatgpt so I sound coherent
Considering the facts that have come out SSS doesn't seem at all remorseful about stealing from his customers, lying to them, publicly lying about the liquidation/misleading people about that for over 6 months, apparently lying to the Carb mods about lawyers being involved/running the business and him not being able to talk. Lying about the specs of his batteries, which going by the ads he had up for them recently is continuing to do. Numerous people on Carb mentioned having serious issues with his batteries, which essentially now have no warranty.

I don't see a single apology in this, just poor me poor me.

I also see the original reason why the company went under has been altered - he originally claimed the battery import/clearing agent ran off with his money but now that pivotal part of the story is missing.
It's difficult to believe anything SSS says now considering how often the story has changed.

If he's now only offering eft payments then no one should be ordering anything from him because that would be the height of stupidity considering his past behaviour and his massive debt - if he makes a runner again or the creditors liquidate him, which they could decide to do at any moment, that money is gone never to be seen again.

OK, OK, OK. @ScottulusMaximus your claim that you were banned purely because of that "bad deal" thread is simply false. It peaked there, but that's it.

There was a bad deal created because a member was upset about the warranty on the battery he bought. He bought the battery and experienced issues with it. SOC issues, specifically. He started mentioning it in your official thread in August 2024 already: https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/lifepo₄wer-lithium-batteries.485294/post-3495708

He asked for advice, but you never gave any. SSS tanked and you never gave an update. He claims to have sent comms to [email protected] but never received a reply. He asked, on your official channels.

When you came back, you simply said "we're back, yo". He asked for updates again, and again, you did not reply. Eventually he created a Bad Deal thread, to which you replied "OP has made no formal contact or request for support on their unit."

This is, without a doubt, a "let's get around with this shitty loophole" tactic to get out of honoring the warranty. I understand you went through a difficult time, hell, I'm the one who defended you for so long, but business is business, and your unfortunate choices cannot be the reason for someone else's losses.

Anyway, he then asked "what are these official channels" because the info he has ([email protected]) is dead. You did not reply, from 27 February, all the way until you were banned on the 3rd of March. Record show you were logged in AT LEAST 4 times during this period.

When finally giraffe-saddle came on and said he placed an order and didn't receive anything, I am also the one who said "something has to be done".

You were asked for info, refused to divulge anything, and this resulted in your ban. That, along with the bad deal thread, along with the lies about liquidation (which you admitted to earlier in this thread just now), the fierce lack of communication (even the legal basics), and the fact that we deal with respect on Carbonite all led to this. Not just a single bad deal. That's just the only place Ageless could post for everyone to see what's happening.

I'm all for cleaning the slate and coming forward and apologizing, it's a fantastic step in the right direction. It's the only way you can rebuild SSS and even try to rebuild the relationships with customers that are destroyed, BUT you cannot do that with a "it ain't my fault" attitude.
